Story

She was originally a mercenary of the Western Alliance, but her misfortunate childhood led her to become a cynic. She was very cruel towards evil, and she was often punished for ignoring her superiors' orders. During an operation to escort a high ranking priest of the Holy Sun Church, she discovered that the Holy Sun Church was an extremely corrupt entity. After seeing a young girl forcibly indoctrinated by the Holy Sun Church's priest, Luna, who could not bear it, killed all the people accompanying him and initiated attacks on the Holy Sun Church. After a failed night mission, Luna was severely wounded. She made a deal with the moon god, gaining her powers, but at the cost of being horny on moonlit nights. She joined the Black Moon Clan and became known as the moon god's representer. Luna's sexual appetite would rise every moonlit night, and she would seek out men who had committed crimes to have sex with them. She would kill them after each session and sacrifice their blood of sin to the moon god.

Summary

TLDR: Luna is an S rank anti-CC tank when used in an off tank (OT) role, and still respectable but not SS rank in the role of a main tank (MT). Her shielding mechanics give her healthy doses of both offense and defense.

Breakdown

Luna is a very strong tank, but her skills can seem much more OP on paper than they are in reality. Her 1st passive is certainly a great example of this. It taunts all enemy's active skills and gives Luna a 70% chance to gain an immunity against Control effects buff. The taunt takes priority over most other targeting priority schemes, and it can taunt 1 hit of multi-target abilities (like Huaxi), but it has no effect on party-wide AoE skills. The immunity is all or nothing...either it happens or it doesn't each round. This passive skill is both Luna's greatest skill and her weakness as she will draw every normal skill and ultimate skill to herself, setting up a "hero or zero" type of scenario. In teams with incredibly high early damage, it can be more than Luna can bear. Luna's 2nd passive gives a small heal each time she loses or consumes energy. This heal isn't very significant, but it can help.

Luna's normal skill is a simple up to 150% physical damage against a random target with a -15% ATK debuff for 2 turns. Her ultimate is where she makes her money, granting a shield (with up to 100% of her Max HP) to herself and the highest ATK ally, splitting the shield HP pool into a 75% (self) and 25% (ally) split. If both of these shields are not broken by the end of the 2 turn duration they will explode, dealing 50% of the remaining shield HP value as enemy party-wide physical damage. Even if the shields are barely touched, this shield damage is not OP, nor is it insignificant, and a portion of Luna's shield will undoubtable be broken before detonation in most cases. However this is a very reasonable level of offense for a tank.

Luna can function as a MT of a party, but with some risk, and tends to perform less than an SS rank unit in this role. She will attract all normal attacks, normal skills, and ultimate skills...keeping the party safe, but with a reasonable chance of dying. This can be an effective burst damage strategy, but how much time it will buy depends vastly on Luna's survivability. Alternatively, she can be used in an OT role underneath a MT, and this role tends to be where some of the strongest team comps stem from. Her OT role splits incoming damage by directing normal attacks to the MT, and normal and ultimate skills to the OT, creating a safer distribution.

Artifact Note: Fox Eye is typically best in slot (BiS) only when Luna is serving in her OT role, (tends to be her strongest role) as it helps her reach a 2-turn ult cycle. It is not recommended in the MT role at all.

Executor
Weep not, sinners! I have come to save you. -The previous representer of the moon god. The myth of the Black Moon Clan had a legend about the moon god. Long ago, humans were a simple and pure race under the blessing of the gods. Then the world had been invaded by the seven evil gods. Various sins occupied the thoughts of humans, and the world became dark. Human jealousy and greed caused different forces to fight with each other constantly, and the killing and blood turned the world into hell. The gods of compassion could not bear the thought of mankind being consumed by darkness, so they sent the moon god, who was a cynic of evil, to cleanse mankind. The moon god sealed the seven evil gods according to the instruciton of the gods' palace, but found that the sins could not be cleansed from human minds. Some humans even turned into demons due to their sins. The gods' palace didn't see eye to eye with the moon god. The gods believed that there was still hope for the salvation of mankind, but the moon god, having seen the crimes of the human race under the influence of the sins, believed that the only way to restore the world to its original state was to destroy mankind completely. Therefore, he started to slaughter them everywhere. The gods killed the prejudiced moon god in order to prevent the world's destruction.

Summary

Because she is guaranteed to take so much damage from normal and ultimate skills at a minimum, Luna's weapon is a must to provide her with some base magic damage reduction. This still leaves her vulnerable to physical damage as a balancing measure, but very much improves her survivability overall. Most players who have Luna can attain the 20% magic damage reduction at +20 in the weapon without having to invest in the costly T3 weapon materials. For those who do invest beyond +20, her weapon gives a stackable up to 5% ATK buff for 20 turns to a random party member each turn, an incredibly strong utility buff in really all game-modes where Luna is present.
