Story

A mercenary who has been in and out of battlefields starting at a very young age. The reason for her survival is not only dependent on her superior combat skills, but much of it is due to her extraordinary luck. A very wise girl who observes fine details in people, and one who is very good at kissing up to others. Although she has fought in plenty of battles, she fears death immensely.
"This bow is exeptionally powerful, not easy to handle and there is a chance that it will backfire. Will you decide to take it?" - Exploration Team Scholar. As a veteran of the battlefield, Hyakuren initially fought as a mere mage, but the constant use of a large number of spells in combat put a heavy strain on her mediocre skills. During one of her mercenary missions, she had to escort a team of explorers to study the ruins of a tribe. The village was dead adn silent, as if it had been through a war, with dead bodies everywhere. The scholars of the mercenary then told Hyakuren that this was a nomadic village that was eventually wiped out by evil men. It was a real shame considering that all the people were gifted with super powers. During the scholars' quest, they discovered a secret arsenal of bows and arrows, Hyakuren, who loved hunting, was interested in a bow and offered to exchange it for the payment of her escort mission. After the scholars examined the bow, they discovered that it was blessed with a spiritual power that allowed her to use magic and spells as long as she held the bow in her hand. Since then, she had held the magic bow and had become the only mage who used bow and arrows.

Review

TLDR: Pailin is a B-rank well-rounded Mage with some single target, multi-target, and all-target elemental damage. Her problem tends to be that she is so well rounded, she doesn't really stand out at anything. Pailin is an overall well rounded mage. Her normal skill can focus the same enemy, making her reasonable against bosses. Her Ult deals fairly high damage with average ability to finish off a low health unit. Her electrocute is a high elemental damage triggering at the end of the round. These 3 damage forms combined give her great versatility, but also no specialization. Her MDEF down passive does not add very much damage to her kit, but her increased energy each time she is hit can be very relevant in fights. Because Pailin's elemental damage is more potent but not persistent like Imani or Rebecca, she is best used in short fights over long ones. Pailin often shines most when her skills are used in combination with other units, such as creating electrocute effects for Zheyeuh or amplifying her own elemental damage raised from Nidia. Because of these synergies, Pailin tends to work better in late-game teams. Pailin's weapon is a very significant damage boost, increasing her Magic Damage dealt up to 30% and (+20) she will gain additional elemental electrocute damage over time on her normal skill.

Technical Details

Pailin can be considered fodder for many F2P simply because of resource priorities. She can be useful, if built, for one Guild Boss (but she's the 4th place damager, but other damager options are somewhat P2W). Each F2P should decide for themselves whether they might build her someday or not.

Pailin is a low priority unit for most whales. If whales achieve a state where they have built most of the useful girls in the game, consider building Pailin for Goblin of Belonging Guild Boss, and certain niche uses that won't be common. She can also be used as fodder, it is each player's choice.
